Shirley is well known across the UK and USA for her expertise in hand appliqué. She has developed her own hand appliqué designs with inspiration taken from English flowers and birds and her particilar interest in the Baltimore Album Quilt tradition.

Shirley has taught her techniques to many hundreds of students and she uses her designs inspired by her own garden when she is teaching a class.

On this 2 day workshop you will learn:

Use of overlays to position appliqué pieces

Use of fabric print (fussy cutting)

Bias bar stems

Needleturned applique - points and curves

Dimensional flowers
