Lilian is a leading authority on “DURHAM QUILTING”and we commence this 3 day course by looking at a selection of 'Durham Quilts', some antique and some of Lilian's own.
For the course you can choose from a variety of projects such as a wholecloth or strippy quilt - cushion, wallhanging, cot quilt or full size bed quilt?
You will learn:
How to make 'North Country' templates without maths (thats got to be good news!) and also the easy way to draw the 'Durham Running Feather'
How to transfer your chosen design to fabric and make it fit the desired size before starting to hand quilt.
Lilian will demonstrate how to 'dress' a large quilting frame
If you've chosen a 'strippy' quilt joining and finishing your strips will be covered.
This course is tailored to suit complete beginners and those with some experience. No previous drawing or designing skills are needed. All templates will be provided. ’
